Why we built this site

Most crypto price trackers default to US Dollars, leaving UK users to do their own conversion. BitcoinRate was built to solve that specific problem: a fast, clean, always-current Bitcoin price in GBP — alongside USD and EUR for comparison — without clutter, without needing an account, and without a lengthy sign-up.

Where our data comes from

Live price data is sourced from the CoinGecko public market data API, which aggregates pricing across major global exchanges. We do not run our own exchange or hold client funds — BitcoinRate is an information site only.

How we're funded

BitcoinRate is supported by advertising (via Google AdSense, including Auto ads) and, in places, affiliate links to third-party exchanges. Advertising is shown according to your cookie consent choices — see our Cookie Policy, which also explains how to opt out of personalised ads — and affiliate relationships never influence the price data we display, which is sourced independently and automatically.
